Terms of Service Overview

Welcome to The Roastery Nook. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website, the purchase of products and services, and your engagement with our offerings including artisan coffee beans, wholesale supply, barista training, café consulting, and specialty coffee subscriptions.

By accessing or using any part of The Roastery Nook website or engaging in our services, you signify your unreserved acceptance and agreement to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use The Roastery Nook's services. Your use constitutes agreement. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access our services.
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland, United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. Continued use of our services after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
These Terms and Conditions are effective as of 1st January 2024. We maintain records of all previous versions, accessible upon request, to ensure transparency regarding updates.

Product and Service Terms

Our commitment to quality extends to every aspect of our offerings. These terms detail the specific conditions applying to various products and services provided by The Roastery Nook.

All coffee beans sold by The Roastery Nook are specialty grade, freshly roasted, and guaranteed to meet our internal quality protocols. We provide roasting dates on all retail bags to ensure transparency regarding freshness.
Wholesale accounts are subject to a minimum order quantity (MOQ) of 5kg per order. Payment terms are net 30 days from invoice date unless otherwise agreed. Late payments may incur interest charges.
Full payment is required to secure a place on any training course. Cancellations will receive a 75% refund if made 14 days prior to the course date, 50% for 7 days, and no refund thereafter. Participants receive a certificate upon successful completion.
Consulting engagements are outlined in separate agreements specifying project scope, deliverables, timelines, and payment schedules. These agreements supersede any conflicting terms herein.

Subscription billing cycles are typically monthly, bi-weekly, or weekly as selected during signup. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled. Details on modifications and cancellation are provided in their dedicated section below.

Ordering and Payment Terms

We strive to make your ordering experience smooth and secure. Here are the terms related to placing orders and making payments.

  • Order Placement: All orders placed through our website are subject to acceptance and availability. A confirmation email will be sent upon successful order placement.
  • Payment Methods: We accept all major credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro) and secure online payment platforms. All transactions are processed using industry-standard encryption for your security.
  • Pricing Accuracy: While we endeavor to ensure all pricing information on our website is accurate, errors may occur. In the event of a pricing error, we reserve the right to cancel or adjust the order, notifying you promptly.
  • Credit Terms (Wholesale): Approved wholesale customers may be offered credit terms, subject to a credit check and formal agreement. Standard payment terms are net 30 days.
  • Currency and Tax: All prices are displayed in Great British Pounds (GBP) and include VAT where applicable for UK customers. International customers may be subject to local taxes and customs duties, which are their responsibility.

Delivery and Shipping Policies

We aim to get our exceptional coffee to you as quickly and efficiently as possible. Please review our delivery and shipping terms.

We offer delivery across Edinburgh and throughout the United Kingdom. International shipping is available to select countries; please contact us for specific rates and conditions.
Standard UK delivery typically takes 2-4 business days. Express options are available at checkout. Local Edinburgh deliveries may be fulfilled sooner. We roast to order, so please allow 1-2 business days for roasting before dispatch.
Risk of loss and damage passes to you upon delivery. If your order arrives damaged, please notify us within 24 hours with photographic evidence.
If delivery attempts are unsuccessful due to incorrect address details provided by the customer or non-collection from a local depot, redelivery fees may apply.
For international orders, you are responsible for any import duties, customs fees, or taxes levied by your country. We recommend checking your local customs regulations before placing an order.

Returns and Refunds Policy

Your satisfaction is paramount. While coffee is a perishable good, we offer fair policies for returns and refunds where applicable.

  • Eligibility Criteria: Due to the perishable nature of coffee beans, we generally do not accept returns unless the product is faulty or incorrect. For brewing equipment, returns are accepted within 14 days of receipt if unused and in original packaging.
  • Refund Processing: Approved refunds will be processed to the original method of payment within 5-7 business days of receipt of the returned item or confirmation of eligibility.
  • Quality Satisfaction Guarantee: If you are dissatisfied with the quality of your coffee, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will work to resolve the issue, which may include a replacement delivery or store credit, on a case-by-case basis.
  • Return Shipping: Customers are responsible for return shipping costs for non-faulty items. For faulty or incorrect items, The Roastery Nook will cover return shipping.
  • Exchange Options: Exchanges may be offered for non-coffee products, subject to availability and our discretion.

Coffee Subscription Terms

Enjoying our coffee regularly is easy with our subscription service. Here's what you need to know about managing your subscription.

Subscriptions are billed according to your chosen frequency (e.g., monthly, bi-weekly) and automatically renew at the end of each cycle. You will be notified before each recurring charge.
You can modify your subscription details, including grind size, coffee type, and delivery frequency, via your online account portal. Changes must be made at least 3 days prior to your next scheduled shipment.
Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through your account portal. To avoid being charged for the next cycle, cancellations must be made at least 5 days before your next renewal date.
Need a break? You can pause your subscription for a period of up to 3 months directly from your account. Your subscription will automatically resume after the pause period.
Gift subscriptions are pre-paid for a fixed term and do not automatically renew. They can be transferred to a new recipient by contacting our customer service team.

Liability and Limitation Terms

These terms outline the limitations of our liability and your responsibilities when using our services.

  • Service Liability Limitations: The Roastery Nook provides its website and services on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
